It's time to "Spring" into action!  We've survived the brutal winter, and Spring is finally here. When we think of Spring, we think of rebirth and renewal. What better time to renew our efforts to lose weight and/or become healthier?! After all, warmer weather is just around the corner, bringing with it lots of opportunities for fun. Of course, the warmer weather also brings along more revealing clothing and (gasp!) swimwear.Eat right and take advantage of the light One of the best things about the Spring and Summer months is the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. Artichokes, strawberries, grapefruit and many different greens are at their best in the Spring; think about adding some of these to your diet to "wake up" your taste buds.Another great thing about this time of year is that we get a little more daylight each day. The warmer weather and the longer daylight hours just beg us to get outside and move. If you've been sitting inside all winter, curling up by the fire with a good book, it's probably too much of a leap to go out and run a 5K. But remember - even a 10-minute walk after dinner can help boost your metabolism, improve your mood, and promote better sleep. There really is no downside.Start a new tradition Many people make New Year's resolutions to lose weight and get healthy. But it's always a good time to resolve to take better care of yourself. So this year, why not resolve to "spring" into a healthier lifestyle by starting your new exercise today!
